Freedom of Life - Item Pipes (Part 1)

Hello everyone!

Is it time for another devlog?

I have made some noticeable progress in the past 11 days, as I have added:

  • 2 crafting tools:
    • Iron Hammer
    • Iron Wrench
  • Tin Plates
  • Iron Plates
And started work on item transportation in the form of Item Pipes MK1!

The Tools

The crafting tools are tools used in crafting recipes, with their durability wearing down as you craft.
Currently, only the Iron Wrench and the Iron Hammer are implemented.

This is the recipe for the Iron Hammer.
With it, you can craft Iron Plates necessary for crafting, for example, the Iron Wrench.
Or you can use it to craft Tin Plates necessary for crafting, for example, the Item Pipe MK1.

This is the recipe for any kind of Plate, when crafting manually.
Right now, I am crafting an Iron Plate.

When you craft 4 Iron Plates, you will be able to craft an Iron Wrench like this!
You can use the Wrench in a recipe or by connecting Item Pipes!
And speaking of Item Pipes, let's talk about those.

Item Pipes

The Item Pipe MK1. Your first way of Item Transportation.
This pipe is able to transport 8 items per second!...
It's not a lot, but when you're beginning, you will like it.
Now, let's see how it's crafted.

This is it. This is the way you craft the Item Pipe MK1.
You need to use Tin Plates for this recipe, rather than Iron Plates.
They're hard to distinguish, so be aware of that.

I will change the Tin Plate texture, so it is a bit darker and desaturated.
However, I may change the amount of Item Pipes you get from crafting them in the Primitive Workstation.

This is how the Item Pipe looks, when you place it on the ground.
It has a downwards facing input, that will always be there.

And as you can see, the Item Pipe can handle up to 3 outputs.

So that's it for today's devlog!
Stay tuned for more devlogs, and when I make the game somewhat more playable,...
I hope you'll enjoy Freedom of Life.
